As we navigate another roller-coaster, record-breaking year of weather extremes ranging from floods to fires, this moment feels redundant. It almost seems normal that Israel and Palestine are at war. It’s what I’ve come to expect. It seems normal that Donald Trump is doing whatever he wants, and they’re pretending to try to stop him. Very few things are actually new or surprising at the moment. I think we’ve been here before; it’s just another cycle around the sun. It’s the same problem, just a different person, on a different day. Oh look, it’s another sex scandal, but this time with P. Diddy. Rumor has it it’s going to bring down a pastor too. It’s what you see in the modern-day news cycle.
Joe Biden put on the worst performance in a presidential debate ever. It’s not just me saying that. You know it’s bad when Democrats are wondering if Joe Biden should be running for president at all. Last I heard, there was pushback about him stepping down. So, to be clear: he debated Donald Trump, the world agreed he did badly, Democrats wondered if he should step down, and then Democrats pushed back against those who said he should step down. It all happened overnight. It all happened so quickly, it’s like the public doesn’t notice. The U.S. has a big problem if the topic of discussion is “Should the president step aside after that terrible performance during the debate?”
The world, it seems, is quietly becoming a world of more extremes, and news media outlets are busy promoting their sector of the world, keeping people in a bubble and further exacerbating those extremes. Maybe it’s me, but for a moment it seemed like we were actually going to have some positive politics, unity, and slightly more peaceful world. Some say they are just letting us rest after the plandemic. I have heard that there is another round of COVID going around. That’s really what is happening in my circles; it’s what I’ve heard from my friends and family, so stay healthy out there.
I continue to work at what I’ve worked at the most: paying attention to politics so I know what to do with my money, making my money work for me, finding new ways to make more money, and putting God above all. I’ve taken a hiatus and decided to start doing things differently in my life. I’ve done a lot of internal reflecting lately. I’m going to become more public about it. Stay tuned—I’m going to be working on a lot of new projects and new parts of my life. Happy July 4th to all my fellow Americans, and happy Independence Day August 6 to all my fellow Jamaicans. I’m going to be celebrating and having a good time for the rest of the summer. Talk to y’all more often and soon.
