I’ve had the Oculus now for a month and it’s terrible for the very basic thing I needed to do. vSpatial is garbage and so is immerse. I just need it to be my 360 degree monitor. All I need it to do is emulate desktops and they can’t even do that. I’ve reached out to Oculus’ tech support and the respond like monkeys and bots. They recommend you go to social media for help. You cannot find any instructions online on how to actually use the product. Just fan boys telling you how good it is. The application is mainly aimed at trying to sell you virtual reality content. I rarely play games on my computer or devices.
Every time I pick up the Oculus Quest 2 to use it, instead of getting anything done. I actually just wind up troubleshooting it. I turn it on and the Bluetooth connection isn’t working. A plain Bluetooth keyboard does work but, I have to reconnect it every time I turn the device on. The K830 desktop keyboard that is suppose to work with it simple does not. Once again… I reached out to tech support which is just ridiculous. I’ve never liked Logitech products, Facebooks Oculus made me go out and get an Logitech K830 keyboard that just never worked.
I turned on the Oculus today and realized somehow passthrough mode is gone. I can’t imagine why you would remove passthrough mode. I can’t image any of the other professional applications actually work but I will figure out over time. I’ve noticed that in the oculus subreddit all the do is advertised. Same thing in the Oculus Quest 2 subreddit, just more fan boys and adds. The Oculus is not for serious people.
